1. This photo of two young friends waiting in line together at The Exclusive Company. On the left is Alex: he came all the way from Lake Mills to get The Mountain Goats’ Beat The Champ record. On the right is his friend Kevin who lives in Shorewood. He wasn’t looking for anything in particular, but left with three records, from artists including First Aid Kit and Iron and Wine.

2. This guy is J. Tyler Friedman. He was browsing through the Jazz records at Bullseye Records. He was particularly excited about his purchases of albums by Jackie Gleason, Art Tatum and Julie London. (Who wouldn’t be?!)

3. This girl is Emily. She rode for ONE HOUR on the bus, coming all the way from Pewaukee just to get to Milwaukee for record store day. She was browsing through records at Off The Beaten Path on Farwell Avenue. She wasn’t looking for anything in particular, but was hoping to find something good to take home before leaving the city.

4. This is the lineup for live Music at The Exclusive Company on Farwell.

5. This is the General Manager of Comet Café, Nick Westfahl. He was DJ-ing for the Bullseye/Comet Café sidewalk sale they had going on. He Partnered with Andy Menschal of Ale Asylum so that customers could enjoy Record Store Day as a full event with food, drinks and music.

6. This is Andy Menschal who was formerly the GM of Comet Café, but has since started working for Ale Asylum. He was providing Record Store Day with brews from Ale Asylum to enjoy while they looked at records and listened to music. He decided to put on this sidewalk sale event, and contacted Nick about partnering up for the event. He’s always really liked record store day, and wanted to host an event that would bring the community together.
